Minot State makes new hires
New people hired this summer at Minot State University include the following:
Lauren Akin is a speech-language pathologist with the Minot Infant Development Program. Previously, she worked for Great Expectations Daycare in East Grand Forks. She completed a bachelor’s degree in communication disorders at Minot State University and a master’s degree in communication disorders at the University of North Dakota.
Brian Boerboom, offensive coordinator for the football program, previously was employed by Southeast Missouri State University. He completed a bachelor’s degree in secondary education at the University of Nebraska and a master’s degree in physical education at Trinity College.
Linda Conn, who is the help desk coordinator for Information Technology Central. She was previously the library director for the Fleming Community/ School Library in Fleming, Colo.
Kesha Eaton, admissions coordinator for the Office of Enrollment Services, graduated from MSU with a bachelor’s degree in general studies. Before returning to her alma mater, she worked for Minot’s Community Options and Minot and Bismarck Public Schools. She is the mother of three sons.
Rianne Farrugia, assistant athletic director of marketing and promotion, moved to Minot from Syracuse, N.Y., where she worked for Cumulus Media. She grew up in a small town near Syracuse and has always had a passion for athletics. She is a former Division I Lacrosse student-athlete from Niagara University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in arts and communications. She received her Master of Science in communication and media technologies at the Rochester Institute of Technology.
Jonathan Gappmaier is the accounts payable coordinator within the Business Office. Previously, he worked for Ameripride of Minot. He earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing and management from Colorado Mesa University.
Tyler Hughes, head football coach, worked at Southern Virginia University and Ohio State University before joining MSU. Hughes graduated from Utah State University in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and is pursuing a master’s in business administration from Ohio State.
