Mickie married Lyle M. Knudson October 24, 1934, in Minot. They made their home in Minot, where they raised their children.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, where she belonged to Martha Circle. She spent 30 years collecting stamps and labels for the church mission work and sewed many quilts for the needy. She was a gifted seamstress and embroiderer. She and Lyle were active supporters of Wycliffe Bible Translators. She was also active in volunteering for many civic organizations, including the Civil Air Patrol, PTA, Girl Scouts, serving as a scout leader, and also served at the polls for many years on election day. She was a charter member and served as president of the Eagles Auxiliary.
Mom loved adventure and loved to travel. Her greatest thrill came when she and Lyle flew to Southern Mexico to visit their son, Lyle, and his family while they were working for the Wycliffe Bible Translators.
