The Lord’s Cupboard Welcome Table food pantry is available Wednesdays from 1 to 4 p.m. at 7-1st St. SE. The pantry is also available Mondays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Fridays from 2 to 5 p.m.
Mouse River Players Community Theater will host a fundraising rummage sale at The Arlene Theater, 115-1st St. SE. All proceeds go to the theater.

The Minot Area Council of the Arts presents Marsha Mugaas, 7 p.m., as part of the 2014 Arts in the Park series at Oak Park. Art guest is Kathleen Cunningham, handmade envelopes. Admission is free to all regular events.
Mouse River Players Community Theatre will hold auditions for “Plain Hearts,” a musical directed by Carlen Gilseth, on Tuesday, Aug. 26, and Thursday, Aug. 28, from 6 to 8 p.m. at The Arlene Theater, 115-1st St. SE. The script calls for six females with musical ability. Anyone interested but unable to make an audition time, please call 858-3178. Show dates are Oct. 17-19 and Oct. 24-26.
The 26th annual Great Tomato Festival will be held Wednesday, Aug. 13, at the North Dakota State Fair Center’s 4-H Hall. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. Social begins at 6 p.m. with dinner at 7. Live music will be performed by Dakota Dixie will a silent auction throughout the evening. Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at the door. Must be 21 to attend. Proceeds benefit the Minot Public Library, Taube Museum of Art, Minot Symphony Orchestra and the Lewis and Clark Fort Mandan Foundation. Tickets are available at the Taube, the library, The Computer Store, Artmain and Artistry.
The second annual Velva Volunteer Fire and Rescue Golf Tournament will be held Saturday, Aug. 9, at Star City Golf Course, north of Velva on N.D. Highway 41. Registration begins at 8 a.m. for the 10 a.m. shotgun start. Tournament is open to the public. Cost is $200 per four-man scramble team. Prizes will be awarded to top three places.
