Spill contained, recovered near Ross
ROSS State officials said a spill of 17,934 gallons of oil and 5,964 gallons of saltwater has been contained and recovered at an oil and gas well site about seven miles south of Ross.
A valve failure was believed to have caused the incident, state officials said.
Statoil Oil & Gas L.P. reported the incident on Tuesday. The spill occurred at the Anderson 28-33 3H well site. A state inspector has visited the site.
