Minn. man arrested for criminal trespass
A 23-year-old Minnesota man was arrested on felony criminal trespassing charges on Wednesday morning.
According to a Minot Police Department press release, police responded to a 4:26 a.m. call reporting a person in dark clothing was attempting to gain entry into an unoccupied apartment. Officers observed an open window and made entry to the apartment, where they found Adel Abdirahman Hussein hiding in the living room closet. Hussein was detained while officers investigated the incident.
Hussein was arrested for criminal trespass, a Class C felony, and was taken to Ward County Jail.
Spill contained, recovered near Ross
ROSS State officials said a spill of 17,934 gallons of oil and 5,964 gallons of saltwater has been contained and recovered at an oil and gas well site about seven miles south of Ross.
A valve failure was believed to have caused the incident, state officials said.
Statoil Oil & Gas L.P. reported the incident on Tuesday. It occurred at the Anderson 28-33 3H well site. A state inspector has visited the site.
Texas man arrested on drug-related charges
A 53-year-old Montgomery, Texas, man was arrested on methamphetamine charges on Monday evening.
According to a Minot Police press release, at 7:58 p.m., the Days Inn requested help in removing Robin Stirman, who was allegedly behaving in a disorderly fashion, from the hotel. While talking with Stirman, according to the police report, the officers observed a small bag of suspected methamphetamine in plain view. The officers also allegedly discovered drug paraphernalia for using methamphetamine in Stirman’s property.
Stirman is being charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia (methamphetamine), both C felonies. He is being held at the Ward County Jail.
Man arrested for disorderly conduct
A 28-year-old Fridley, Minn. man was arrested for disorderly conduct early Tuesday morning.
According to a Minot Police press release, the police department received a call that a man was causing a disturbance in the area of the 1200 block of 32nd Avenue Southwest. Although officers weren’t able to find him the first time they were called, they were sent back to the area at around 12:22 p.m. At that time, Jacob Erdman was allegedly inside a building banging on the walls and had allegedly discharged a fire extinguisher. There were multiple reports that Erdman allegedly caused damage to vehicles by kicking and jumping on them. Erdman was located at Mainstay Suites.
He was arrested for criminal mischief, a Class C felony. A warrant is also pending for disorderly conduct, which is a Class B misdemeanor.
