Firefighters raise nearly $37,500 in Fill the Boot Drive

Firefighters took to the streets of Minot July 24-26 to “Fill the Boot” for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, raising nearly $37,500 to help find treatments and cures for neuromuscular disease and send local kids to camp next summer.

“We are thrilled with this outcome and deeply appreciate the work fire fighters in Minot do for MDA,” said Sue Wiger, area director for MDA. “It does make a difference to all the people and families here who are living with muscle disease. These are local kids and local families. Our Minot crew continues to have the largest Fill the Boot in the state in terms of the dollars they raise.”

Minot firefighters collected funds at two locations in Minot over the three days, at the intersection of Third Street Southeast and East Burdick and the intersection of 16th Street and 20th Avenue Southwest.
