Street work continues in Minot

Street work and closures continue in Minot this week.

According to information from the City of Minot, the closed portion of 13th Street Southeast should open this week as the project wraps up.

Milling has begun on Sixth Street Southwest between 11th Avenue and 18th Avenue Southwest. One lane will be closed, with flaggers on both ends of the milling train. Work will begin on the north and work south in one lane and then back north in the other lane. The project was to start Monday and is expected to take two days.

Milling is scheduled to begin today on 22nd Avenue Southwest, beginning west of the intersection of Elk Drive and 20th Avenue Southwest. Work will continue east to the U.S. Highway 2 on-ramp near Starbucks. At that point, the work will return west on 22nd Avenue. The contractor will be closing one lane at a time, with flaggers on both ends of the milling train. The work is expected to be completed in two days.

Eighth Street Northwest between University Avenue and 11th Avenue Northwest is closed for installation of water and sewer to Little Flower.

Work also continues on utility improvements on 21st Avenue Northwest. The avenue is closed between 16th Street and 11th Street Northwest. Work continues on 37th Avenue Southeast, which is closed from First Street to 13th Street, although access remains for residents in the area. Frontage road closures are expected in that area this week.
