Car/cow crash kills two

MANDAREE Two men were fatally injured when the vehicle they were in collided with a cow and then overturned multiple times. The accident occurred on a BIA Road 12 miles east of Mandaree at 10:29 p.m. Friday.

Killed was a 27-year-old male from Mountain Home, Idaho, and a 19-year old male from St. George, Utah. The names of the deceased will be released following notification of next of kin.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the men were a driver and lone passenger of an eastbound 1993 Honda Civic when the black cow was struck, causing the vehicle to leave the road and overturn. The passenger was wearing a seat belt. The driver was not.

The Highway Patrol, Dunn County Sheriff’s Department, Three Affiliated Tribes Police Department and Mandaree Volunteer Fire Department responded to the accident.
