Lavonne Lorraine Lauber, 87, Minot, died Monday, Aug. 18, 2014, in a Minot nursing home.
Lavonne was born July 24, 1927, in Minot, to Carl and Jennie (Tauben) Lauber. She was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church and was reared and educated, all in Minot. As a young adult she began employment at Minot Steam Laundry and continued to work there for 30 years before working at St. Joseph’s Hospital in the laundry department for 10 years. Following her retirement she served as a companion for senior citizens, a position she very much enjoyed because she made so many wonderful friends through the program.
Her loving sister, Carol Schultz, of Minot, who loved and cared for her; as well as many nieces and nephews who she dearly loved.
Lavonne was preceded in death by: her parents; sisters, Rose Cline, Ethel Halvorson, Hilda Hauglie and an infant sister; and brothers, Raymond, Leon, Alfred, Don and Earl.
Celebration of the Life of Lavonne Lauber: Thursday, Aug. 21, at 11 a.m. in First Lutheran Church, Minot.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation: Today, Wednesday, from 3 to 5 p.m., in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
