Fall headliners at NAC galleries

The Northwest Art Center will host two receptions for four visiting artists as fall semester exhibits get under way at the Hartnett Hall and Gordon B. Olson Library galleries at Minot State University.

Kimble Bromley, Dilworth, Minn., juror for the “Americas 2014: All Media” exhibit in the Hartnett Hall Gallery, will be the featured guest at a public reception Thursday, Sept. 11, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Bromley will present a gallery talk at 7 p.m., discussing his selections and awards for this annual national competition. “Americas 2014: All Media” features the work of 26 contemporary artists from across the U.S. and Canada. The exhibit runs through Sept. 26.

At noon on Friday, Sept. 12, Bromley will be the guest speaker for the MSU Art Department’s student seminar meeting in Aleshire Theater. The exhibit, reception and seminar talk are free and open to the public.

Poster artists Zeb Love, Pittsburgh, Pa., Eric Nyffeler, Omaha, Neb., and John Hitchcock, Madison, Wis., will attend a public reception for their exhibit in the Gordon B. Olson Library Gallery from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18. Love, Nyffeler and Hitchcock are featured artists at MSU’s annual Notstock event Sept. 17-20. Their exhibit will be on view through Sept. 20.

Notstock is an annual multi-day arts event at Minot State University that engages the campus and regional community with opportunities for hands-in, hands-on interaction and participation in the arts. The event features printmakers, musicians, poets, potters and more.

All activities are free and open to the public. Parking on the MSU campus is unrestricted after 5 p.m.

These projects are funded in part by a grant from the North Dakota Council on the Arts, which receives funding from the state legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts.
