Minot State University has several new employees: Dan Conn, Sherry Filler, Mark Singer and Leslee Thorpe.

Conn, assistant professor of teacher education, earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern Colorado, Greeley, a master’s degree from Adams State College, Alamosa, Colo., and a doctorate in education from UNC. Before moving to Minot, he was employed by Frenchman RE-3 School District in Fleming, Colo. His wife, Linda, is the office clerk for MSU’s Information Technology Central.

Filler is an administrative assistant for the Department of Addiction Studies, Psychology and Social Work. She was previously employed by the Anamoose-Drake Elementary School. In 1996, she completed an associate degree at MSU.

Singer is a visiting assistant professor of history. He holds master’s and doctoral degrees from the University of Missouri, Columbia. He last taught at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa.

Thorpe, an instructor of teacher education, received bachelor’s degrees in social work and education from the University of North Dakota and a master’s degree from MSU. A native of Mohall, Thorpe previously worked at the Early Explorers Head Start in Devils Lake.

Nicole DesRosier has joined the staff of KMOT-TV as news director. She is a Minot State University graduate and started working at KMOT as a college student. In 2002, she transferred to KFYR-TV in Bismarck, working as a director, production editor, graphics and web designer, later becoming the executive producer.
